Take time for others

The greatest contribution leaders can make to mankind is to use their power in a positive way – to help and inspire others.

The leaders who accomplish the most will be those who are able to communicate their wisdom effectively to others. They will communicate to subordinates with as much care and attention as they communicate to superiors.

Most members of any group or organization or business want to be “in the know”, they want to know what is going on, and how they fit into the picture.

Sharing information about goals and strategies is very important to the success of any organization. People need to know where they are heading before they can make commitments to place group needs above their own. They want frequent, candid information from their immediate boss.

The basic building block of good communication is the feeling that every human being is unique and of value. It has been well said that the finest expression of respect is not praise or status, but a willingness to talk openly to a person. The effective leader will share information openly and willingly. By taking time to share information the leader demonstrates that he or she values the individual as an important member of organization.

More than anything else, follower want to believe that their leaders are ethical and honest. They want to say,” someday, I want t be like him or hers.
