Choose to have a positive attitude
Most people would rather work for a positive, supportive boss than one who has a negative attitude toward life. Unfortunately, many people never get a choice about what kind of person they work for!
It has been proven that a quality leaders has a positive impact on the productivity of those he leads. Think about a time in your own past when you worked for a positive, supportive leader. The difference likely to be significant. Spend a few moments recalling how much productive you could have been during the time you had a poor, unsupportive or negative leader.
Every leader is encouraged to learn how to deal with his own attitude and to become an expert in handling both praise and criticism. Having a positive attitude means even criticism and conflict can be handled in a context of hope and helpfulness.
Care how much you come across, be intentional about the messages and impressions you are sending, recognize that your words and the way you express your thoughts have an impact on the emotions of those with whom you work.
Create and maintain a sense of urgency that keeps people and projects moving in a positive direction. Demonstrate a belief in yourself and in all the members of your team. Give the credit for success to others, accept responsibility for failures without blaming others.
