Lead with resolve
Good intentions don’t get a person very far in the business world. Action is what speaks and what solves problems. Our servant leadership training stresses leading with a resolve to act in a way that gets results.
- Commit from the outset to follow through, if you say you are going to get something done, get it done!
- Always seek to find better way.
- Stand up for and do what is right, even though it seems difficult at times
- Recognize that every problem has an opportunity embedded within it
- Understand that successful problem solving involves urgency, persistence and resolve
When dealing with a problem, put a fix in place as soon as possible. Then, drill down until you get to the root of the problem. As simple as it may sound, clearly defining the problem is the most important step in solving the problem.
While fix is in place, do further research on the causes of the problem and make decisions aimed at resolving those causes permanently so future problems are averted. If your decision don’t produce the desired result, admit you made a mistake and make a new and better decision!
